Low Cost Spay/Neuter Returns to County Shelter

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Returns to County Shelter

Looking forward to an early April opening, low-cost animal spay-neuter and vaccination services will be available at the County Animal Shelter Clinic adjacent to the animal shelter at 3839 Bradshaw Road.  The County Board of Supervisors has approved entering into a new service provider agreement with Animal Spay and Neuter, a nonprofit clinic that delivers these needed services.

“We are very pleased to begin a new partnership with Animal Spay and Neuter Clinic to bring back low cost spay and neutering.  Their reputation and performance are outstanding,” stated Dave Dickinson, County Animal Shelter Director.  “Together we will continue efforts to reduce the number of unwanted animals and provide more resources to fight pet overpopulation.”

A little mind over matter, yeah? No? Well then, I suppose we will just have to settle for living the dream since it doesn't seem the weather is going to cooperate for many of you, any time soon. At least you can get a jump start on your springtime builds though, and be ready for the even first hint of warmth. That is definitely something.... Xx... Rayan... Read More

Some of my very favorite things in the world start with the letter “B”. There’s berries, beaches, beets, bikes, bees, barns, breeze, books…and BRUNCH!

Whole Kids Foundation is giving some love to the letter B with this month’s kids’ activities.

Our Kids’ Activities: Free and Fun!

Created to help connect your kids to their food, these monthly activities offer cool tools to open the doors of healthy conversation. We’ve learned that talking about healthy eating during table time leads to open mouths asking for more nutritious veggies and fruits, please!

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

One of the the best things you can do for your body is fuel it right, and there's nothing better than veggies.

In the winter, at least for me, it gets a little harder to get in all 7 to 9 servings of vegetables my body needs. When it is cold and rainy outside, and all I want is comfort food, a salad or crunchy carrots just doesn't seem to fit the bill.

That's where this soup comes in. Warm and delicious, and versatile enough to enjoy as a snack or a full meal, veggie soup is comfort good that it good for your body.
