Sexual assailant suspect arrested in Folsom | Crime
FOLSOM, CA - A man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman then committing a lewd act in public was arrested in Folsom on Saturday.
According to officer Jason Browning of the Folsom Police Department, a woman claimed she was running on the Humbug Willowcreeek Trail around 7:35 p.m. when she was sexually assaulted.
The woman gave responding officers a detailed description of her alleged attacker, but police were unable to locate the individual in the area of the incident, said Browning.
About an hour and a half later, security officers at a Target store at 430 Blue Ravine Rd. told Folsom police that they had witnessed a man following women into the store, then apparently masturbating while walking around the store, Browning said.
According to Browning, officers subsequently located and arrested Timothy Christopher Ortiz, 25, of Sacramento who matched the description provided by the woman on the running trail. The woman was then able to identify Ortiz as here attacker.
Ortiz, who had a warrant out for his arrest stemming from sexual battery in another jurisdiction, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on a charge of Assault with Intent to Commit Rape, said Browning.
