Orangevale couple celebrates their 70th wedding anniversary Wednesday | Families
Mae and Walt Riper were married on September 12, 1942 when they were both 20 years old. They are now 90 years old and are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!
They're both originally from Iowa, but moved to the San Francisco Bay area where they worked in the shipyard. Walter joined the Navy and served during WWII aboard the USS Oakland. In 1962, they bought a house in Orangevale where they've lived ever since.
Though these love birds had a big celebration last Saturday with friends and family, we at News10 would like to acknowledge them now - on their special anniversary day.
