CalVet released its 2012 Veterans Day Event Calendar online. Events this year include a Veterans Day Breakfast at the California State Military Museum 8 a.m. Sunday, the Saluting Our Heroes Veterans Day Parade 11 a.m. Sunday, the El Dorado County 7th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony 11 a.m. Sunday, the Marine Corp Ball at the Folsom Community Center 5 p.m. Sunday and more.

PLACERVILLE, CA - When I'm not on the Assignment Desk at News10, I'm out volunteering in my community.  One of my favorite places is the Community Observatory in Placerville. This short video gives you an idea of what to expect if you visit the observatory. American River Wins Outstanding Environmental Resource Planning and Utilization Award

The American River Parkway, a collaborative Regional Treasure and fondly called the “Sacramento Crown Jewel”, along with the late Keith Demetrak, California State Parks are the 2012 inductees into the 2012 California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS), District 2, Recreation, Park and Leisure Hall of Honor.  Representing 70 park and recreation agencies in 19 counties of California, the CPRS Induction Ceremony is Friday, March 9, 2012, Barbara Morse Wackford Community and Aquatics Center in Elk Grove, California.  Terry Selk, Director of Tourism, Sacramento-Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is slated as Guest Speaker.

Cordova Recreation and Park District Announces Completion of Field Project

Cordova Recreation and Park District announces the grand opening of a second synthetic turf soccer field at the Mather Sports Center.  This project was funded by grant funds from the State of California, Proposition 40, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.  The project includes a new full sized synthetic soccer field, bleacher seating, lighting, a parking lot, and decorative fencing.
