Community and business leaders along with H1 Unlimited President, Sam Cole, had a press conference Monday to announce the return of the massive hydroplanes of the H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Boat Series to Folsom Lake at Granite Bay SRA.
This Folsom venue was chosen over dozens of other global venues, and organizers say this could bring millions of dollars in positive economic impact.
The newest venue on the Air National Guard H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Race Series, Granite Bay SRA at Folsom Lake will host the races from May 31 – June 2, 2013, as part of the Big Wake Weekend at Folsom Lake.
“We’re excited to bring the fastest boats in the world and the thrill of the H1 Unlimited Hydroplane series back to Northern California and the Capitol City”, said H1 Unlimited President Sam Cole.
The hydroplanes have not raced on Folsom Lake since 1967 when they were better known as “ Ms. Budweiser Boats”.
On display at the press conference was the Degree 88 Adrenaline Hydroplane.
