Photo Gallery | 'Taste For Hope' ~ A Special Gala Event For Acres of Hope ~ March 24, Was A Success Thanks To All 300 Guests! Thank You!
Taste for Hope, the annual fundraising event for Acres of Hope, was held Saturday, March 24 at the Rocklin Mercedes Benz. As this elegant event unfolded, three-hundred guests arrived with the spirit of giving in their hearts.
The evening hosted fine food featured from local gourmet restaurants, including Paul Martin's, II Fornaio, Pasta Pomodoro, The Beda Place, GimmeCakeToo, as well as wine tasting from local fine wineries including Popies Winery, Nevada City Winery, Bent Metal Winery and Sue's Fine Wines. Coffee was available by Peet's Coffee of The Fountains. All was a culinary delight and so enjoyed by all.
During the evening, guests perused tables displaying the Silent Auction featuring an array of beautiful items and bids were in the making!
A very special moment for guests, was the fashion show featuring the Acres of Hope moms who modeled beautiful clothing from ReNew Boutique, one of Acres of Hope's thrift stores. The room was filled with an air of love for these women who've made such strides in their lives, and each woman's commitment to making a new life for herself as well as her children brought smiles and applause from the audience. Donations made this eve will further the success of Acres of Hope in providing new lives for future recipients of their program.
As silent auctions were a definite hit of the evening as well as a beautiful TAGHuer watch valued at nearly $3,000 and through the generous sponsorships of Surewest Foundation, CGI, DeBoer Financial, and several private parties, Acres of Hope made a profit of nearly $20,000.
Acres of Hope asked eLife Adventure Organization, a community nonprofit activity network, to once again be premiere volunteers to aid in the success of this gala. eLife Adventure Organization volunteers took part in beautifully arranging table settings, greeted guests on their arrival, and throughout the event were attentive to all guests, providing answers to questions regarding the Silent Auction, and hosting tables which served refreshments! . eLife volunteers felt blessed to be part of this evening and look forward next year! A special thank you, eLife volunteers!
Acres of Hope, a spiritually based renewal center serves homeless women with children by providing them with a home and an environment of structured programming. It is a long-term commitment on the part of each woman who enters this program, usually living onsite for up to two years, while staff and volunteers invest heavily in their lives by providing encouragement, practical life-skills training, job skills, mentoring and spiritual direction.
